Bright, violent sunlight

enters my bedroom.

Unfettered, unbothered, it

illuminates my crusty eyes

and my unshaven face.

Energized I stand

and spin around.

Tired, hopeless, I crash.

First against the nightstand.

Then against the dresser.

I end up on the floor,

bruised and bloodied,

wishing I was sunlight,

and nothing more.
